Has anyone given this a go? I tried it tonight and it was an epic fail! Batter spread all out in the oil like those snakes around fourth of July! Glad I only made 1/2 a recipe. I may try again but wondered if anyone else had any issues.
Hi everyone. I'm really sorry, but I'm going to be dropping out of the club. I've enjoyed making Payard's recipes with you all, but just due to time and money reasons, I'm not able to continue. I can't wait to see all your delicious posts to come though!
I did it. I made our pet de nonnes. I was so blocked on this one and it took me a few minutes to do everything. I both baked and cooked them in oil. There was a difference in look but I am not sure I noted any as to taste.
Chocolate With Francois is a blog based around Francois Payard's book, Chocolate Epiphany. We are not affiliated with Francois Payard or his bakery. We're just fans of chocolate who want to create the recipes in his book.

Susan: sounds like a funnel cake! Chocolate funnel cake! hmmm!
ReplyDeleteI made these yesterday. They puffed up really big. Anyone know if they are supposed to be baseball sized?
