We took a trip this past weekend to my husband's home town. It's a very small town in Southwestern Minnesota with no stop lights or internet. With no internet, I had some time to read more of Chocolate Epiphany. Reading the cookbook only made me more excited to make so many of the recipes in this cookbook. As I made the list of which member would choose recipes and what month, I realized the process of creating these wonderful recipes is going to be a long one! We need some bonus creations or I may still be creating recipes in a few years, from my walker!! :)
Since November starts the holiday season and everyone will be getting busy, I picked an easy one, Charlie's Afternoon Chocolate Cake. The bonus post date will be November 15th. I hope some of you will join me in this creation.

I'm so excited you picked this. I remember reading in Francois' introduction that this was an easy cake. I'll try my best to get it made by the 15th!
ReplyDeleteJulie: You are not receiving my emails. I sent this on NOV. 4th as well as OCT. 31st.
ReplyDeletePage 182, Pine Nut Turron Cake for December 30th. Great for New Years Eve entertaining.
You have great ideas and are doing a wonderful job, getting this off its feet.
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting for my book but I got the recipe, with the flour, this time. Thanks for your help.
I made this cake last night, and it is the easiest chocolate cake I've ever made from scratch! Mine came out a little flatter than the one in the picture - wonder if anyone else had this happen...
ReplyDeleteI also made it and mine was not only flatter, but it didn't look as silky or creamy as the picture. It's a good cake though.
ReplyDeleteGreat recipe! My version came out like a brownie, drier but still good.
ReplyDeleteSorry the link is messed up but my site is not. Here it is: www.applecrumbles.com
I posted my Charlie's Afternoon Chocolate Cake a few minutes ago. In my haste to get it ready to take to Mexican Train tonight, I unmolded it while it was still a tad to warm. Needless to say, it fell apart. So if you look closely at my posting you will see that I molded into something that looks like a square.
ReplyDeleteIt's still delicious even if it's in hunks. of
